I have tested your modifications in the current Nagios cvs version and found that the memory leak rate dramatically
shrinks. The test server I checked this monitors about 3200 hosts with 14500 services and 6 perl plugins. With Nagios
2.0b3 the leak rate was about 18MB/hour now it is about 1MB/hour.
