Just an update.....I did make the change Scott suggested(in PROD) and have done an "Apply Changes" 2 times since and everything seemed to work fine. I'm still going to do the ramdisk for the config files because I think I have hit that race condition a few times. I will report back again after I do that(hoping to Wednesday).

Cool, thanks for the update!
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.

Go ahead and close this up. Until I see this happen again I am just doing the Scott fix. I am also doing two other items that may have played a factor:
1.) decommissioning one of my workers that I think is having issues
2.) rewriting my on-call handling method so it requires no restart of the services. I am concentrating on this the remainder of the week(hopefully doesn't take that long) and if anyone wants to help(hint hint :) ) please let me know!
