monitor process in reverse

Post by redfan »

Hi and thanks for stopping by!

I am fairly good with nagios and have a pretty nice setup. I know have a different type of monitoring need. I need to monitor a process in reverse. If the process is not running then everything is okay, if it is running then there is an issue. Now I could just acknowledge the alert and wait for the recovery email as an alert but that leave a false alert on the pages and you have to remember that the recovery is really an alarm. The process would run on a windows machine and I am using NSClient++. Could you help and guide me in the right direction to make this work?

Thanks for you time and help,

Take a look at negate. Should be just what you need.
