Nagios Display "Warning" Status with "OK" result from ".SH"

Post by praparn »

Dear All,

According to our nagios system was implement for check some sybase sybase server health with "nrpe" for call shell script to get the log file from sybase database to seek "error" wording on log and return to nagios status ("OK", "Warning", "Critical") on Web GUI. This our technique that we use for monitor almost 8 months ago.

Anyway we had been found the problem of monitor call "122" that nagios decide to display status as "Warning" for result "OK" on this month. As checking we fount that the script was not change and when compare with monito call "142" on same monitor type of other server. We found that the result from .sh script is same ("OK") but nagios detect and display status different now (Detail as attachment picture).

As some try that we had been operate now that cannot resolve this problem

1. Restart "NRPE" service on Client Side
2. Restart "Nagios Server"
3. Remove / Add Monitor for this List

So if someone had experience for this problem please kindly to help us krab.

*Remark:
1. Nagios Version: 3.0b1
2. Nagios Server OS: Fedora Core 6
3. Target Server OS: Sun Solaris

Can you attach the script you are using and the full settings for the service check that is in the warning state?
