Service Dependency Mapping
Service Dependency Mapping
We are looking to pull in some dependency mapping much lime you can custom build in NagVis. However, initially it seems like a challenge to get configured particularly to auto add and remove services in a map based on service checks within. What is everybody using to create these? Is NagVis our best option?

Re: Service Dependency Mapping
Could you clarify what you are looking to do a bit more? It sounds like you would like to have nagvis or another product layout a map and overlay your services on it, keeping dependencies in mind?
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
Re: Service Dependency Mapping
That is correct. I've been playing in NagVis but it feels laborious, which is fine if there is not another good option.

Yes, it can take some time to get a valuable map set up depending on what you are doing, if you are interested in just seeing parent-child relationships you can use Home > Hypermap.
