root@nagios:/tmp/nagios-4.0.2# /etc/init.d/nagios start
/etc/init.d/nagios: 20: .: Can't open /etc/rc.d/init.d/functions
root@nagios:/tmp/nagios-4.0.2#
Everything else up to this point worked OK. The only other slight problem was when changing into the Nagios directory it states "cd nagios" but I have to use "cd nagios-4.0.2". Would this cause any problems?
We officially develop on and support RHEL/CentOS systems and have found them to be very stable and reliable. Nagios installation and configuration is pretty painless on a CentOS system and is generally what we run in the office for testing.
