When I check /usr/local/nagios/etc/ its EMPTY ?

Please run the following, we need to find this file:

yum install mlocate

updatedb

locate contacttemplates.cfg

locate nagios.cfg

/usr/local/nagios/etc/ is completely empty?? That is not standard in the least bit. Have any serious modifications been made to this system? Any perhaps, misused SED commands? You should not be able to even verify the configuration files, or start nagios if there is no nagios.cfg file, and that resides in /usr/local/nagios/etc...

When you ran this:

/usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

It shows that there must be at least a nagios.cfg in that directory.

Its a new install
NAGIOSQL LOGIN FAILED! at E-importnagiosql

rpmforge package for ppc64 does not exist so i install ppc rpm

I installed mlocate.ppc64 0:0.22.2-4.el6 now , it was not installed by ./fullinstall script before
still can't locate contacttemplate.cfg command but can locate nagios.cfg

We need to review the whole install.log. The file should be located in "/tmp/nagiosxi/" directory. Rename it to install.txt if you have to and upload it or PM it to any of us on the Nagios Support Team.
