CUPS and others

What daemons are not needed with the VM systems?
My server seems to get hung on starting CUPS and sendmail and sm-client.... Does Nagios need CUPS? Prolly needs sendmail to relay to our mail server...

What can be turned off?

CUPS is not needed. Only a very bare-bones should be required.

I asked because I loaded the VM and there was a bunch of stuff starting that is not needed. May I request that the VM appliance be trimmed down to only include the software that is needed so the average-to-non Linux admin doesn't have/leave stuff running that takes up resources and does nothing for Nagios.
