I you mean in Fusion, under Server credentials, the accounts used are all nagiosadmin.

The bug I see is that user John Doe logs in with his own credentials and is 'promoted' to nagiosadmin on the spot.
I want to stress this bit!! User John Doe types his own user name and password and at the blink of an eye it shows nagiosadmin in the upper right!!

If this is a known issue, is there a workaround?

MichielvM,

Given your description, I'd say Fusion is working as intended. If you've read the Fusion Getting Started guide you'll see it obscurely documented.

Back in 2012 I made the request to improve this behavior. Unfortunately we're still waiting. More recently when following-up on the feature request (Ticket ID: 0000436 - currently assigned) I was told a fix will be present in Fusion 2014 release.

Using forum search would have yielded these results to past discussion:

1. Acknowledge a problem as: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... 73&p=61046
2. Duplicate of #1, Authentication pass thru: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... 74&p=76792
3. No-auth issue across several XI servers: http://support.nagios.com/forum/viewtop ... 17&t=26935

Perhaps request forum thread link 1 be unlocked and add your name to the list of interested organizations.

I've managed to workaround this issue, security-wise, by creating read-only accounts on all Xi's and have Fusion manage them by using this one instead of Nagiosadmin.
So the heat is off as far as I'm concerned.

The OP was about NOC screens. Where dashboards for team x were 'given' to team y and so on.. Somewhere along the line the focus shifted to a security issue because of the nagiosadmin account jumping in unwanted.
I still have to get that NOC screens thingie sorted out, so I hope that the intented fix adresses this too.

I'm certainly interested in the solution! :-)
