When you updated to XI 2.2, did it try to upgrade php in the update process?

I don't believe so.

Unfortunately, with the way our company is set up, I don't handle the updates. I submit a ticket and request that the server team do the update. We are behind a proxy and they have to enter the credentials in order for the update to go through successfully.

If you can let me know what you're thinking, I can ask the guy that did the update to be sure.

There were a number of changes to the XI code base for php 5.3. Upgrading *might* help.

Were you experiencing the pchart errors before upgrading the component?

I don't recall seeing the errors, but then again, I wasn't to the point of digging to the logs quite yet.

I will put in a ticket to have PHP updated. Many thanks!

It turns out that for some reason, PHP 5.3 isn't avaliable with the RPMs that Nagios loaded upon install?

This is per the server team:

Resolution: Before PHP Upgrade

php-gd-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-devel-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-mbstring-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-pdo-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-mssql-5.1.6-5.el5
php-pgsql-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-pear-HTML-Template-IT-1.3.0-2.el5
php-pecl-json-1.2.1-4.el5
php-common-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-cli-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-ldap-5.1.6-39.el5_8

php-mcrypt-5.1.6-5.el5
php-xml-5.1.6-39.el5_8
php-snmp-5.1.6-39.el5_8

After the upgrade

php-common-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-mbstring-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-snmp-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-mssql-5.1.6-5.el5
php-pear-HTML-Template-IT-1.3.0-2.el5
php-pecl-json-1.2.1-4.el5
php-cli-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-devel-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-pgsql-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-pear-1.4.9-8.el5
php-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-ldap-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-xml-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-mcrypt-5.1.6-5.el5
php-mysql-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-pdo-5.1.6-40.el5_9
php-gd-5.1.6-40.el5_9

PHP 5.3. doesnt come with current nagios load and did not want to go to a release doesn't get support from redhat or nagios. Updated PHP to the latest release available.

Since the update, the first errors showing are as follows in error_log:

The errors listed all relate to the fact that the system could not bring in the RSS feeds on the default homepage, likely because your XI server either doesn't have direct internet access or the proxy settings have not been setup. Not of major concern.

I will look into modifying the future release to suppress these errors.

Additionally, have you noticed any other errors/warnings pertaining to the nocscreen or to pcharts?
