Yeah, my Windows(SCOM) admin was doing something dumb. I am now getting alerts into "Unconfigured Objects" but all under the same service name. That is an issue with SCOM2NAGIOS and I think can be resolved. I will report back. If that can be resolved, everything will be working great!

Fantastic! I hate giving you bad news, so I am glad this issue is on the windows admin's end. I will leave the thread open, awaiting final resolution.

I don't know if my issue I am now having is related to SCOM2NAGIOS or if it is an issue in XI.

On my dev server that has nothing configured in it to monitor except itself, it is what is receiving all the alerts from SCOM. I select the configure button next to one of the unconfigured hosts and go through the steps but when applying I get failure on the verification. Nothing is written to the config snapshots, so I have no way to see the error.

When you run the write config tool can you see the errors?:

Configure > CCM > Tools > Write Config Files "Click these buttons from top to bottom waiting for text to output before clicking the next."

No errors in nagios log except compaining hosts cant be found, which is what I expect :)

Code: Select all

[1377708977] Warning: Passive check result was received for service 'test' on host 'otwae-pbak01p.aeo.ae.com', but the host could not be found!
That is in there many many times for all the alerts coming in NSCA from SCOM. I am attempting to use the unconfigured objects page to add the hosts and services into XI and that is where it is failing. Any other hints?

In the http error log I see this being shown MANY times everytime I load the unconfigured objects page:

Code: Select all

[Wed Aug 28 13:56:13 2013] [error] [client 10.5.2.34] PHP Warning: in_array() expects parameter 2 to be array, null given in /usr/local/nagiosxi/html/admin/missingobjects.php on line 330, referer: http://rn000002.aeo.ae.com/nagiosxi/admin/

Apparently I can not "Apply Config" no matter what. I just went in CCM and made no change, hit apply config and it errors out just the same. If I write/verify/restart everything is fine, no errors. I'm stuck now, I have nothing else to try myself.

re-ran the upgrade script and everything seems to be resolved and working. No clue what was wrong. Feel free to reply and be the last post on this. I will report back once I am done testing SCOM2NAGIOS
