I think we are getting somewhere. Thanks for your help.
I used single slashes, the service in ccm seems to like that, it now shows synced to file. Although, nothing is displayed in the Service Details view. I posted pics.
Regarding the tools > write config files. Write is successful. Verify gives one error, which is pictured.
Did your service show up in the Service Details page?

Hmm odd, you somehow got a nrpe check on a host. That will need to be removed and replaced by a ping check to measure up or down states. You should then be able to apply configuration. Also, you will need to use double slashes for that counter as they must be escaped in the CCM.

I cleaned up the nrpe check, and the original test host and services, then started over.
It started working after running through the Windows wiz, I used this as the arg:
-l "\Web Service(_Total)\Current Connections","Current Web Connections %.f" -w 20 -c 25
The NSClient is nice, monitoring the counters is pretty huge. Hopefully, I have it down now, and won't experience further pain when setting up others.
Any one monitoring counters via snmp? I am still searching the web for examples, non so far.
Thanks again for your assistance, slansing!

Wahoo! Excellent! If you are interested and are setting up another windows system I'd recommend trying out NCPA which is our newest "cross-platform" agent:

As far as monitoring performance counters with SNMP, that is not possible unfortunately.
