My co-worker has these mounting via autofs and fstab. So when you use the mount command, you see different results.
I actually tried to get an answer from Apple Support last night, to no avail. Go figure.

Looking at the original linux script you asked about, I see it uses SNMP to verify the NFS mounted on the remote system.
Are you looking to also use SNMP on OSX? Or is SSH available?

I certainly will. It seems I cannot access the Developer Forums as I don't have a paid subscription to the Developer Program (and that really sucks, considering the nature of the question and its relevance to others). My boss is working on getting me access -- however, if someone else here feels so inclined, by all means.
