As abrist was pointing out, this is an issue with the snmp plugin querying a counter that is too small for anything over 2.2 TB. We will look into a few other oids that might work, however some additional info is probably needed too.

What OS and version is the machine you are checking drive size on?
What version of snmpd is it running on the client machine?

Hello,

Sorry for my late response, i didn't see your message !
this problem was detected on many servers ex:
Ubuntu (64bits) 10.10 and Redhat Enterprise 5.3

snmpd -v return:
NET-SNMP version: 5.4.3
and
Version: 5.3.2.2 in others systems

thank you for your help

Can you run the check again with the verbose "-v" flag and post the output?

Code: Select all

./check_snmp_storage.pl -H server -G -C public -m '/' -w 80% -c 90% --v2c -v

This looks like a bug with snmp on your device:
Descr : /media/edition
Size : 2062586704
Used : 3108702884
Used is larger than Size. This happens for a few of the checks. I don't think we can fix this as your device is returning invalid data. My assumption is that the volumes are too big for the snmp implementation.

EDIT: You may be able to upgrade the snmp implementation on the device as newer versions tend to support large counters.

thanks for your help
yes i think so, volumes are too big to be managed by snmp

I wish I had a better solution, but we will have to wait until snmp v4? or wait for your device manufacturer to change the base unit from bytes to KB or MB.
