Usually, in XI, you just use the global event handlers component config page as you can use scripts and macros from the component.
Though you are welcome to use your own handler script by configuring nagios.cfg and the CCM commands, but you will then be unable to use the global event handler component.

Changed global event handler configuration in nagio.conf and rebooted system
Error message for monitoring engine went away.
Error message for External Command Interface went away.
Nas10 host definition now gone from host details.
Passive check test is functioning.
Global Event Handler which is supposed to send an snmptrap to localhost is not working but I'll take that up in other thread (tomorrow).
