Would it be possible for you to add a second network interface that goes to the VPN network? Or is that against policy?

And yes, that would end up being against policies. I think I'm good with either a NUC or just a custom built mini-itx solution. $200-$400 depending...still decent price and gives us more options with a true intel CPU and more ram.

NUC's can be extremely powerful, we will be using a couple with quad core i5's to drive some touch screen displays at the conference this year... they are sweet. 
Add in an SSD, and 16 GB of ram like these, and you are set.
