The upgrades of our ESX servers did not solve the problem :-(

Are you using check_esx3.pl to talk directly to an ESXi host or are you going via vCenter?

What's the load like on the Nagios server running check_esx3.pl? Is it possible that the cause is from an under-resource Nagios server?

How about memory?

Apart from that I'm out of ideas ... except that you should try box293_check_vmware
