Still unable to resolve this issue myself, save manually entering our thousands of lines of conf data. I suppose if I were to mirror this thread in the customer forum it wouldn't assist in any way?

Correct, this is not a bug in NagiosXI. We include NagiosQL, though since it's not our product we can't support it beyond trouble shooting.
The trouble shooting is done, it's a bug in NagiosQL. Until it's corrected upstream it's not an issue that Nagios Enterprises can spend any resources on.
