If you have paid customer support then this sounds like something which will be better handled with a support ticket.

Otherwise we'll continue to diagnose through the forums, let us know either way.

Resolved in remote.

The file /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/xiversion was missing. Re-created it with the correct content and the upgrade ran.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
