History tab suppose to display "comment and acknowledgement history". If the service is up without any problems in the past, the history tab won't show anything, which is expected. But here the issue is History tab is not showing anything on a service problem acknowledged/commented.

Can you try clearing the browser's cache and clicking back on the "History" tab?

Clearing cache didn't help me either. Understand that you've got the same issue with the latest version of history tab, did clearing the cache help for you?

I've identified the problem is and I've contacted the Nagios XI developers to find out why this problem is happening.

On older versions of XI that have been upgraded, the problem does not occur.

On freshly deployed VM's of Nagios XI the problem is reproducible (I've tested 2014R2.0 and 2.4).

Thanks to all. The updated component fixed the issue. now I can see the history.
