I've had similar issues with a Win2008 Exchange server where the check_pdh command is failing.
I'm still in the process of proving my solution, but indications so far has been that the there is a problem with nsclient.
I have upgraded a server to the latest version 0.4.3.x and the check_pdh command appears to be working correctly now

toleolu,

If you haven't blown the server away yet, it may be worth giving Freds recommendation a shot. Thanks!

Sorry, didn't see Fred's post until after we reinstalled the OS, which fixed the problem.

I think in this particular case, it was just one of those things. I suspect it might have been caused by the employee running all the Windows Updates after he had installed the SCEP antivirus. This time we just installed NSClient after joining the server to the domain, and everything came up green. I told the guy building the server to go ahead and run all his Windows Updates then install SCEP, so like I said, I think it was just a Windows hiccup.

I should probably go ahead and update my NSClient because we're still running 4.1.102.

Thanks again for everything, you can close this post.

At some point during the installation of Windows Updates and other applications on this server, the issue with PDH Values returned, identical to what it was doing before. Additionally, I found that a second server that was identical to this one, was doing the same thing. The guy who was building them told me initially that it was working OK on the first server. Noobs, what are ya gonna do???

Any way, long story short, per that last post I removed the 4.1 client and installed the 4.3 client and that fixed the problem.

These two servers are identical physical boxes running 64 bit Server 2008 Standard with Xeon processors. If you need any additional details on the hardware/software config on these boxes. Please let me know.

Shout out to Fred Kroeger for your suggestion.
