I like Troy cannot confirm why or why not backup completion status isn't properly being reported. It's definitely something we'll bring up with the developers.

Otherwise are we square to lock this thread?

Yes you can lock it as long as the developers fix this!
I'm not keen on checking logs every day to confirm that the backup completed successfully.
