This is a Windows 8 machine, could it be a compatibility issue?
If you're getting "NTSTATUS: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED - Access denied" errors, it is because the user does not have permissions, take another look over that guide and make sure that you've completed "Adding Remote Activation Privilege to Windows DCOM" and "Adding Remote WMI Access".
