I am interested in this feature.
Our current syslog server sends the raw message in a email and would be a great feature to have.
Would probably hold off purchasing and migrating over to NLS until this is available.

The biggest hurdle is deciding what message to include. What happens if you match 100 log messages? Do you include them all? Just the first? The last? Something in the middle? A random representative sample? What if the logs that match are vastly different from each other? We're working out the best way to handle these questions, and the hurdle on this hurdle is that no matter what we decide to go with, inevitably some people will want it to work differently. There's a fine balance we need to strike between Swiss Army Knife with all the bells and whistles, and It Just Works.

Including the first message would probably be fine for most use cases.
If they want more they can just click on the link.
Maybe you can provide an option to include X number of messages?

Do we have any updates on this feature ?

Updates regarding this feature likely will not be posted here. This has been discussed a lot in the past and all I can say at the moment is that we've had a few discussions both internally and externally about how best to handle this. There are some logistical issues about what to include in the message that need to be tested and implemented.

Any updates will appear in the product release notes.

This feature is being added to Nagios Log Server version 1.4.0 - we plan on releasing this version shortly. Thank you all for suggesting this feature and helping it come to life!
