One query what would be the process to monitor a log file ?

We have a section on Nagios Exchange that has plugins for monitoring various things. If you need help with this, I would suggest opening another topic, as this one was created for something else.

We also offer a great product called Nagios Log Server that specializes in log file monitoring.
