Is there any link available for capacity planning requirements if services count exceeds beyond 10,000 or else please provide us estimated matrix.

We have quite a bit of information out there:

https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... giosXI.pdf
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... Server.pdf
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios-XI.pdf

All of these links are to articles describing performance tweaks. YMMV, 10,000 isn't an official number, just a ballpark estimate.

In our current environment we are using 3 XI instances and average counters per servers are 10. So would like to know how many maximum servers we can on-board on these 3 XI instances. If in future, the infrastructures grows beyond the capacity of XI, then is there a way to optimize capacity and performance of Current XI instance or do we need to add another XI instance to cope with the changes of growing infrastructure? Our client would like to know on this to calculate the future scope.

Are you guys from the same organization?

Can you elaborate a bit more on this?

There is no hardcoded limit. This all depends on resources and the type of check. If you're just checking ping to certain servers, you're going to use a lot less resources than if you are using a complicated perl script to do a check, which would allow for many more hosts. This is why we can't provide a static number. Every single installation is going to be different.

Yes:

All right. Is there any information that I haven't covered yet that I can provide?

To be more specific about query, in our initial agreement client had estimated 2500 servers
with average 10 counters to be monitored in Nagios. According to this requirement, we had configured 3 XI instances.
Now they have 4000+ servers to be monitored and parameter counters also going beyond 10.
That's why we would like to know whether 3 XI instances are sufficient for these many servers Or would we face any issues after on-boarding these servers...

Generally speaking, 20,000 services on one XI server is when you'll see performance issues appear.

So if you have 4000+ servers and 10 services per server then you'll end up with about 44,000+ checks.
With 3 x XI servers thats about 14,666 checks per XI server.

Seeing as the amount of servers being monitored is growing, you might look at:
4 XI servers = 11,000
5 XI servers = 8,800

So with 4 or 5 XI servers there is a bit more room for growth.
