Great. Thank you for creating those tasks - I hope they will be implemented soon ;-)
However, we have still 2 issues open:
- health=100% when essential member is in problem state (see my original post)
- show BPI group in BPI component if user is authorized for all services/hosts/groups for that group.
Do you have any updates on this?

I'll take a look at the health=100% bug and see if I can find a workaround.

For this one though:
show BPI group in BPI component if user is authorized for all services/hosts/groups for that group.
This is technically a feature request, correct? What I mean is that if you add them to the access list they can see them but you want them to see them without having to add them?

Thank you

Exactly - this is feature request. You were right - or in other words - if this feature is implemented and enabled, access list for groups would be used mainly to handle exceptions (e.g. user needs to see specific group but he is not authorized contact for all group members...) --> significantly easier administration ;-)

A little off topic question: what is the best way to find out status of tasks (bugs/features) if I know task id? (best answer would be: 'you'll find them in next release notes' :-), but I know this is not possible ;) ). Do I need to create new topic in forum just for this or is there another way...?

If the bug report or the feature request were posted on our public tracker, you could just log in and view the status.
If this was an internal bug report/feature request, you could just start a new thread on the forum, and ask us about any updates, provided you knew the task ID.

Did you create a feature request for this?

Issue #1
- health=100% when essential member is in problem state (see my original post)
What is the version of Nagios XI and Nagios BPI component that you are currently using? Have you upgraded to Nagios XI 5.2.5? If you have, are you seeing the same issue? Show us screenshot of the BPI group in question under the "Business Process Intelligence" page. We need to see the message bout the group health with and without an essential member, when it is OK and Critical.

Issue #2
- show BPI group in BPI component if user is authorized for all services/hosts/groups for that group.
I have filed an internal feature request for adding this functionality in Nagios BPI (TASK ID 7843), and discussed the issue with our developers.

I've found the problem with the health=100% issue and I have a fix but unfortunately it's in an encrypted file, I have to submit my merge request to the developers so they can merge it and then it can be encrypted.

Here is the bug report I've submitted with my included merge request:

Code: Select all

NEW TASK ID 7845 created - Nagios XI Bug Report: BPI - Group health shown as 100% when essential member is in critical state

Here is the updated component. Just install it using the User Interface in XI.

Compliments of Mr. Sax AKA Dr. Codedreamer!

Hi Everyone,
thanks for that update. I've just noticed it is part of standard installation(v. 5.2.7). However, it seems you forgot to update version number and date for nagiosbpi component (check nagiosbpi/CHANGELOG.txt file - there are question marks instead of version number and release date).

And could you give me an update for these tasks:
TASK ID 7739
TASK ID 7843
TASK ID 7845

Thanks.
