Since those packages are already installed, it looks like the XI application needs to have the upgrade run so it will recompile the application and then it should find the MYSQL library.
Use the instructions below to manually install
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... nstall.pdf
Instead of using link in the manual to download the source file, use the one below to download the same version you are currently running.
https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... 2.6.tar.gz
If after running the upgrade you still have the same error starting the ndo2db daemon, can you login to the server as root, run the following commands and post the output?
Code: Select all
ldconfig -v
find / -name libmysqlclient*

I have downloaded the source file and initiate upgrade.
Once I initiate restore, the first part about ndo2db did not have any error anymore.
Backup files look okay. Preparing to restore...
Shutting down services...
Stopping nagios:. done.
Stopping ndo2db: done.
NPCD Stopped.
Restoring directories to /...
But on the latter part of the restoration, I encountered the same error about ndo2db again.
NPCD started.
Starting ndo2db: /usr/local/nagios/bin/ndo2db: error while loading shared libraries: libmysqlclient.so.15: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
done.
Starting nagios: done.
RESTORE COMPLETE
I have attached the result of ldconfig.
Then here's the result for libmysqlclient.
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so.16.0.0
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.16
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.so
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient_r.so.16
/usr/lib64/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.16.0.0

I see you opened a ticket for this - we do like to avoid working in multiple places at once. Would you like to continue in the ticket, or here?

Hi rkennedy,
I have opened a ticket since last week but have not received any support that is why I tried to post in this forum. If somebody would be able to respond via ticket, that would be great.

Can you PM me the email you used to open your support ticket? Contrary to
@rkennedy's post I was not able to find a ticket opened using the email you have associated with your forum account. I also cannot see any indication that you are a current customer according to this forum account, which would explain not getting a response since email support is customer-only.
Please PM me the email address used and I can sort this out.
