One last thing - By using static directory structure I have to manually add the the server to the host group when a new server is inducted and remove it from hostgroups.cfg before I remove the host. Is this how it should be?

Yeah, this is probably the simplest way to do this if you've got a lot of hosts coming and going. I'm trying to think of a nice way to simplify this with templates, but currently automation probably works better with the static configs than through the CCM.
