Glad to hear of the progress. Please keep in mind though that webinject is a third party tool and we can only support it to a point. If you are going to be testing webinject, please at least test it on a Nagios XI machine with the webinject scripts that it installs.
That said, it sounds like cert verification may need to be enabled somewhere else in the config or the proxy could be doing ssl inspecting and inserting it's own root ca which the redhat/windows machine doesn't yet trust.
