The problem was there before the implementation of the RAMdisk. I did follow the tutorial which you are referring to, and that didn't have any side effects.
I also edited the smb.conf so the printing errors should be gone.
The server was shut down last night, and when I started the server again, about half of the services were gone. A restart of the Nagios service did the trick to get all the services back, so the problem seems to be a bit random as well.

Let us know of any future problems so we can pin down any issues.

I don't know what happened, but the problem is suddenly gone. It keeps the checks after a restart of the machine. I did remove a lot of checks which were monitoring every port of our switches. This meant I have about 1000-1200 checks less.

These checks were all put in with the SNMP walk, so maybe there is a subtle bug in the SNMP walk wizard. I can't check the log, because we don't log anymore (performance).
I also did a apply config with the beta CCM and after this the problems seem the have disappeared, so maybe the database has been repaired by the new CCM.

This is strange, but glad to hear it has gone away.

Could have been a corrupt table in the database that finally got fully fixed. Sometimes it takes several repairs before the corruption is fully gone.

I think it was the beta CCM, because I have tried repairing and applying config about a hundred times now, and this is the only difference
