It this last image, I see the password contains a $ which is going to have to be escaped

I've tried that - I followed instructions online and I just copied and pasted your line too
I think I'm going to give up on nagios - after 3 or 4 weeks I have nothing but wasted time. I do appreciate your efforts though.
Now I have to go googling for another bloody product - do you have any recommendations?

I really wish I could be of more help.
We do have some quickstart sessions where a sales tech can help you get through some hurdles if you like you can try that and maybe overcome this problem.
