sreinhardt wrote:One question, would you use the same credentials from fusion and XI, or expect them to be different? I would see it as fusion keeps a local short term authentication token that when expired or with a new user is pulled from a valid XI server. This way sessions can be passed as they are now, but a per user basis and without additional login.
Yes, I think it's safe to use the same user in this example, our centralized LDAP is configured identically on both fusion and nagiosXI systems. Keep in mind we have to manually add each user to Fusion and NagiosXI, but the LDAP auth does work for each. I would love to see Fusion to include the overview/reporting/status while still able to click on the NagiosXI server from the Fusion Interface, and preserve my own userid. For now, I've disabled server credentials in Fusion for my NagiosXI server. By doing this, we can connect to NagiosXI without auto-logging in using the credentials saved in Fusion.

Great! Thanks for the writeup on how you use this in your environment, and the feature request in the middle. You could submit this idea to:

Code: Select all

http://tracker.nagios.com/
And then a developer can take a look.
