Re: Blank service check
@hbouma, Can you run the following commands in order and let me know if it fixes the problem?

Re: Blank service check
Unfortunately, it did not. When I tried to move the files, I was told that neither existed.
Code: Select all
$ mv /usr/local/nagios/var/ndo2db.lock /usr/local/nagios/var/ndo2db.lock.bak
mv: cannot stat ‘/usr/local/nagios/var/ndo2db.lock’: No such file or directory
Code: Select all
$ mv /usr/local/nagios/var/ndo.sock /usr/local/nagios/var/ndo.sock.bak
mv: cannot stat ‘/usr/local/nagios/var/ndo.sock’: No such file or directory

Re: Blank service check
@hbouma, Yeah that's normal(these files are supposed to get removed automatically. But sometimes they don't and that's why I included these commands). Did you run through the rest of the commands? Also in your profile, I can see that the DB is offloaded. Can you ssh to the remote DB server and check the log files? You can also run the following command on the remote server(you may need to replace the password for the root):
mysqlcheck -r -f -uroot -pnagiosxi --all-databases

Re: Blank service check
@hbouma, Can you sign in to the Core interface and check if you see the blank service check there?
*When it prompts for the login and password you can enter the nagiosadmin login and password
*Replace 192.168.3.87 with your XI IP address

Re: Blank service check
@hbouma, What is the output of?
Nagios is not showing up in the list of processes in your profile. I'm not sure if it's running now. If not, try to start it:
Code: Select all
service nagios statusservice nagios start
service nagios status

Re: Blank service check
@hbouma, This looks like the issue discussed here:
https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/na ... issues/164
What version of XI are you running and what is the operating system? Have you updated this XI installation recently?

Re: Blank service check
We are running Nagios XI 5.5.3 on Red Hat 7 64bit. We recently upgraded from 5.5.1 to 5.5.3 on all 6 of our Nagios XI servers and are not seeing the issue on anything but the one server.
I would disagree that the issue is different. The process is running. I can see it in the output of a ps command. When running a systemctl reload nagios, it completes properly and the service shows active when I run a systemctl status nagios, which is different than what is in that bug. I can also see full access to the resource.cfg file.
