Did you fix the path to the nagios.lock file?
I think so. I modified it to what you said to. If that's the correct setting then yes. I can log into the DB with the default password:

Code: Select all

[root@lisl-ngos-01-pv nagiosxi]# mysql -uroot -pnagiosxi
Welcome to the MySQL monitor. Commands end with ; or \g.
Your MySQL connection id is 2533
Server version: 5.1.73 Source distribution

Type 'help;' or '\h' for help. Type '\c' to clear the current input statement.

mysql> Ctrl-C -- exit!
Aborted
I already ran the DB repair script. I ran it again just for good measure, got this both times:

Code: Select all

===============
REPAIR COMPLETE
===============
ndo2db was not running... could not stop
Starting ndo2db: done.
Stopping nagios: /etc/init.d/nagios: line 153: kill: (29966) - No such process
done.
Starting nagios: done.

=======================
nagios database repair skipped, no *.MYI files found
nagiosql database repair succeeded
Trying the next step you posted now with removing the /var/lib/mysql/nagios directory.

OK, let us know how it goes. We are getting close to the end of the work day here, so hopefully you will be able to restore XI successfully before 5:00pm CST.

Yeah that's my concern as well. I absolutely cannot let this sit until start of business tomorrow.

Looks like the latest attempt was able to at least restore the backup. I'll want to revisit why the upgrade didn't work in the first place tomorrow, but I can do that in the ticket I opened. Go ahead and lock this up and I'll check in with the ticket tomorrow. Thanks for the quick responses guys.

Great, glad you were able to get it restored.
