Its showing me the below.

@suryakiran, You need to run it as the nagios user. Because that's how it's executed when you Apply the Config in GUI.

Getting the below error.

What are the permissions of the "/usr/local/nagios/var/" directory?

Here's a possible solution, posted on the support forum from a user, having similar issues are you:
In order to fix this, I added the nagios user to /etc/cron.allow and edited /etc/pam.d/crond to include the following line:
account sufficient pam_listfile.so item=user sense=allow file=/etc/cron.allow onerr=succeed

chage nagios -l

Minimum number of days between password change : 14
Maximum number of days between password change : 90
Number of days of warning before password expires : 7
The user nagios is already been added in /etc/cron.allow
I have added account sufficient pam_listfile.so item=user sense=allow file=/etc/cron.allow onerr=succeed in pam.d/crond and the issue is still the same.

Run the following command to enable the expired nagios user:

chage -I -1 -m 0 -M 99999 -E -1 nagios
and restart crond:

Did the changes and below is the output when i tried to restart the nagios.
Does polkit-agent-helper-1: pam_authenticate failed: Authentication failure making this issue.
