Run this to remove the conflict.

Then, just try and upgrade only the Nagios XI package by running

If you see and dependency issue, post them here, don't do the skip broken option.

Now i dont see that error but it is stuck at updating nagiosxi for more than an hour.. Is this expected?

It has been three hours still not updating the nagiosxi.. Some packages were updated.. I am going to kill the process and retry again.

If the upgrade hangs like that, check the /tmp/xi-upgrade.log file to see what is causing the issue.

I suspect that there is another yum process running in the background causing the upgrade to hang.

One cause could be some leftover install.sh files that are left on the system and they could be spawning the other yum process.
Try removing these files from the server and try the upgrade again. If they do not exist, that is OK.

I dont see anythng happening..

After reinstalling nagiosxi it still shows the old version 5.4.7
