I would probably revert the switch wizard and go about creating your own wizard that meets your needs and leave the Network Router / Switch wizard the way it is so that it can adhere to the existing architecture (see the link below), that's all you can really do if you want changes outside of the feature request cycle (other than doing paid custom development, which is also something we offer), then you can upload them to the exchange for others to use as well if they find it meets a need for them (I'm sure this would). I just do what you did to try to help customers get what they want but it's up to the development team to approve/write/test/release it.
