OK, the server was up.
I do not see any problem from the Nagios side, like a network problem did not cause Nagios to think it was down.
I suppose most sites see an OK state and thats good enough.
We have Operators who get a single down and up alert on a console.
The up alert clears out the down alert. Then they clear the up alert (and possibly close a problem call, or contact interested staff).
So a missed up alert sticks out. The Operators like a console that is blank.
