Can you run the following commands on your client machine and report the output

uname -p
uname -r

[root@prod-bnrbat tmp]# uname -s
Linux
[root@prod-bnrbat tmp]# uname -p
x86_64
[root@prod-bnrbat tmp]# uname -r
2.6.18-274.7.1.el5

I'm not really sure why this would be.

Can I have you unzip the attached file and place it on the XI server in
/usr/local/nrdp/server/plugins/nrdsconfigupdate

then from the client try running this again on the client

When you run this on the client

can you see the connection in the XI servers log ?

I think I have found the cause of this in the tarball. I am doing some testing and will post a solution once I have it.
