I just tested this launching the below image
aws.JPG
At 13 minutes it had restarted and was ready to use and configure through the web UI at the Public IP

You aren't launching this into a location that doesn't have Internet access are you?
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Internet access is fine. Do I need all of those custom TCP ports added to my security group?

I tried adding the TCP ports that you have but that didn't work either. I have a t2.micro instance. Do you think that could be the problem?

Log Server will not run on a t2.micro, for sure, I don't know if that is the only problem, but it cannot run with that little memory.

I built a brand new instance using a t3.medium which meets the min specs and I'm still getting the error - Unit httpd.service could not be found.

Is there anything else that I can check on?

something doesn't seem correct as this should have launched a much larger process

Can you run the following

Code: Select all

sudo su
curl https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/installNagiosXIvm_el7_ami.sh | sh

Somehow you must be launching this in an environment or selecting a VPC with special routing that has IPv6 enabled but cannot route to the address provided by DNS.

One possible workaround for this host would be to run the following:

Code: Select all

echo "72.14.181.71 assets.nagios.com" >> /etc/hosts
but I suspect you are going to hit other barriers for the same issue as the install progresses
