Hi

Are you sure your backup is not corrupted?
No I am not sure but I have used 3 different backups.
The backup file is approx 5.7GB

Is there a way to test the backup before I do a restore to see if it is ok ?

Can you find the nagiosxi db in the backup tarball?
If I extract the .tar.gz file on a Windows Server I can see the following
The folder pgsql has a file called nagiosxi.sql but it is only 4.8MB

The folder mysql has a file called nagios.sql it is 993MB
The folder mysql has a file called nagiossql.sql it is 2.60MB

Is it in postgres or mysql?
Looks like its in mysql

Thanks

You can always test the backup on the "old" server. Just run add a new host or a service, then restore from the backup to see if the newly added object would be gone. If everything works well on the old server, this would mean that there is a problem with the new server or/and the restore script.

This means the nagiosxi db is in postgres, not mysql.

At this point, I would recommend that you open a support ticket via our support center here:

https://support.nagios.com/tickets/

We may need to schedule a remote session in order to further troubleshoot the issue.

Hi
I am actually starting 2 weeks of vacation starting this evening, I was hoping that this was going to be something simple to resolve

Can I leave this open and then when I get back on the 24th Aug I can raise the support ticket and hopefully get this database moved to the new system

Thanks
