Also, I tried to create a user with same name as the contact was. That worked, now I am getting alerts for the contact sahilmilliman.
But the problem is, I dont want the users to login to Nagios Xi console. I just want them to receive the alerts. That is why I created only contact for that user.

Medinsight Support works because it has a user in Admin > Manage Users.

You would need to follow 2 or 3 then if you do not want them to have a user, those are the methods to do it.

I'm not asking you to change your mail server in option 2, those are steps to setup the backend MTA so that it relays through what you have set in Admin > Email Settings.

ok thanks this works now.
I created a user with same name and that should solve the problem for now.
My apologies, I was under impression that the contact Medinsightsupport is contact only.

One more question, is there a way to disable acknowledgment notifications. Like if I acknowledge an alert it sends another email stating that alert has been acknowledged. Is there a way to disable that notification?

Hi sahilrana,

You can do this in the user notification preferences. Login into Nagios XI, and then click your username in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Under Notification Options, select Notifications Preferences and uncheck Acknowledgements.
