When I execute this command it never returns any value:

./check_vmware_api.pl -H 10.61.5.243 -u nagios -p 'Admin' -l cpu -s usage -w 80 -c 90

Does the command just hang?
Or does it return you to the command prompt?

I did check with the ryt ip, i altered it when i posted.

however the issue is still the same.

additionally, i checked on the esxi host and found that the memory utilisation on the host is max consumed, would that be causing the nagios command go unresponsive.

Yes if the memory is maxed out then the command would probably stall.

I am curious though - when you kill the command does the memory drop down ?

The memory utilization is not because we make a Nagios call, rather due to the other process running on it locally.

I have asked team to clear out the memory so that I can re-initiate the test from Nagios. I will keep you posted.

I did have a check today, the host was consuming 80% mem n 6% cpu, however when i do run check command i dont see the results and its just blank as how i had shared a snap earlier.

I think the problem is something else.
