Dashlets on Home Page Broken since 2024R1.4.1

I saw this saying dashlets were fixed.

So I did a snapshot and updated, same exact issue as the past updates, dashlet's just disappeared. Restored my snapshot we are running right now.

Hope to be fixed soon so I can keep current....

Yeah, it is confusing. Apparently 2024R1.4.1 - 03/07/2025 was supposed to fix earlier an earlier release (not sure which) that caused dashboard/dashlets breakage. Despite the fixes in that release, dashboards still break.

Thus we're all holding for 2024R1.4.X - with no ETA at all.

To alleviate the confusion it might be good for Nagios to post something on the changelog indicating that Release <whatever> may/will result in dashboard breakage, update with caution.

I interpreted CL info that it appears that 2024R1.3.3 was the last version before dashlets were altered and breakage started. Hard to say at what ver thereafter this dashlet breakage happens. This was agreed with by sgardil here - viewtopic.php?t=76200&start=10. Not quite sure if he/she's an official voice of Nagios.

If your Nag is working OK now, it would be wise to just hold fast, IMO.

very good point - then others who think they are fixing an issue know that they would be breaking their dashboards

Holding...... Dashlets need to work for us to upgrade, we need them for monitoring.

We are on 2024R1.3.4 and holding....

Unfortunately, the new dashboard functionality isn't something we have decision-making power over and thus, many dashlets are going to behave fundamentally differently with the update. You should be able to delete your current dashlets and re-add them to fix the issues, but there are some that are still broken on 1.4.1 and you'll have to wait for 1.4.2 for those to work properly. Functionality has mostly been restored for custom dashlets, so they should work as before, but built-in dashlets will likely all need to be re-added to your dashboards when you do upgrade. Unfortunately, we don't have an accurate estimate of when the release will happen, but it should be within the next month.

Ok, we can wait, I guess it's like they say, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it"....

Everything is working for the most part, some minor things that bother me but, this is one needs to be adressed.

Broken dashboards was reported and acknowledged by Nagios on March 18th. That's now 1&1/2 months ago. You're saying the release "should" come in the next month, so maybe in May. Do I understand Nagios is allowing 2 1/2 months to fix this problem, which is blocking upgrades? That is, IF the fix comes in May.

I've tested 2024R1.4.2 and there's no improvement on this issue that I can see.

Just wanted to say THANK YOU! I just upgraded to 2024R1.4.2 and my Dashboards are back

Just one thing I did notice, although I'm quite pleased to have my dashlets back, the snap-to-grid function is a bit obnoxious on how it forces me for placement on where the dashlets are. Would prefer to be able to toggle that functionality on/off and not be forced to use it.
