Yes as I mentioned above - everything works locally and remote, if I dont use NRPE. NRPE runs as nrpe - the /tmp file is owned as NRPE. It only does not work via check_nrpe - I have written many scripts for these systems and check_jmx is the only one that won't work through NRPE. I have even given the nrpe user a shell and executed everything again - same results.

I am fresh out of ideas. You may need to include some validation/error checking in your script to hunt down the cause. I would start with checking whether or not Jobs data was returned. Have you checked the jvm's logs?
