Also, the services.cfg in /cfgprep/orig is not empty, the services.cfg in cfgprep is.
All the hostname.cfg files you mentioned are not in cfgprep/orig, they are in cfgprep. My hosts and hostgroups have always shown up in Nagios, I just never get any services associated with the hosts.
Thanks

That one was a template, can we see an actual "registered" object?

It was a couple of posts above that one:
define service{
use generic-service ; Name of service template to use
host_name Svr3MCTX1
service_description Disk Usage C:
is_volatile 0
check_period 24x7
max_check_attempts 3
normal_check_interval 5
retry_check_interval 1
contact_groups nt-admins
notification_interval 0
check_command check_nt_disk!C!90!95
}

Apologies. The syntax for the object is correct. Are you a customer for XI? If you are, we may need to move this to a remote session by opening a ticket with
[email protected]. If not, have you utilized a quickstart remote session for XI previously?

As of right now, we're not a customer, I just recieved the quote today to purchase the software, we are processing the paper work for the PO now.
I'm sure at the end of the day, this will all boil down to something I'm doing wrong, I'm just having trouble understanding the import process.
I have a seperate post what the proper proceedure is for importing the files from cfgprep into Nagios. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong.
For instance, in the cfgprep directory, I have a .cfg file for every host that was imported, do I select all those host.cfg files in CCM File Import and import them all at once, a few at a time, etc.

Either. As long as there are no cross dependencies, a little at a time is usually less stressful. You may want to investigate the quickstart option, as it is a free, one-time service we provide to those trialing/evaluating XI. See ->

The quickstart request form won't submit, it keeps saying that I have to enter a value for Nagios Fusion Install and Nagios Incident Manager install, I have 1 Nagios XI install indiated, but it's still wanting me to input a value for Fusion and Incident Manager. We don't plan on using those modules at this time.
Also, it's saying that the cost for the quickstart was $250.00, yet you mentioned it was a free service. Could you clarify this cost please.

Apologies, as that was not the correct form. Just fill out the form on the downloads page to receive an email from Scott offering a free quickstart:

Wow, I got it.
Just goes to show if you blow enough VM's away, you'll get it eventually.
Thanks guys, you can close this one.
