Just stopping by to let you know Spenser is still working on this. Should be ready soon!

ok, cool. Thanks for the update. While we wait for that script to finish, I do have a quick question. I heard a rumor that mrtg might be going away with the next major release (i.e. R3) of Nagios XI. Is there any truth to that? Mrtg over all is rather...clunky, so if something better is on the horizon I'd feel much better.

If you know of something better, we would be happy to hear about it, but presently I do not know that it is going away any time soon. As for an update on the script. It seems to be working fine, I want to get you a solid document and zip up the code before sending it off. I am projecting this to be available tomorrow for you!

I don't really know of anything better, tbh, I was just curious if there was anything. I'm just used to Solarwinds, since that's what we're using currently. We've never had any issues with that, but MRTG always seems to end up giving me headaches...

I do have one other question regarding bandwidth checks, though. I don't mind seeing the data output results in terms of the actual amount of data being used, but is there any way to configure bandwidth monitoring to output as a percentage as well. The higher ups here prefer the "easy view" of utilization percentages over utilization numbers. Just another one of the little conveniences we've gotten used to from using Solarwinds.

I can't say that I've looked into outputting as percentages instead of actual amounts. We can certainly take a look at it though! Sorry to get back to you so late, I did attach a zip with a script to separate out your mrtg configs. You will need to include a line:
Include: folder/*.cfg
folder/ is relative from the workingdir value. Otherwise the script should be able to just be run and will output configs in the current directory you are in. Please backup the mrtg.cfg first though.

I think this one can be locked up now. That script will help with splitting the config up, and the interface that isn't working seems to be some sort of issue with the switch, not nagios. I tried a different bandwidth plugin and got the same results, so we're going to investigate the issue more on our end. Thanks for all your help on this!
