Actually, I'm going to step in, the NRDS config items in NCPA have not been fully implemented, and are stubs for future versions of NCPA. There is no documentation that this has been implemented at all.

That said, you can use NCPA to perform passive checks which is fully implemented and functional.

Ok so we are back to the old nrds client. what can I do to make it more stable?

We will need to find out first what causes NRDS to stop sending results to the Nagios XI server. Can you show us a screenshot of the NRDS entry in the "Task Scheduler" and one of the host and its services in Nagios XI (or Unconfigured Objects page if this host hasn't been configured)? Is the next run time scheduled in the Task Scheduler? When was the last run time?

the task does run every 5 minutes. its just doesnt do anything

Is 12/26/2014 8:36:44 the last item in the C:\Program Files\Nagios\NRDS_Win\logs\NRDS_Debug.log ?

we have found the solution
the problem was that some host were unable to delete the log every 500 lines so it got stuck. as soon as you delete the log your self the issue is resolved
we are now looking for an option to send a script via nagios commands to delete the log
