Sidenote: I forgot to add when after I restarted logstash. Went and looked at the NLS and logs were still not being processed, so I restarted electicsearch and everything started working again.

Bandit, I have set up a test lab and replicated your configuration exactly as I could. I will see if I can get some hints from my end - in the meantime if there's anything unusual or consistent about what might be going on, please let us know.

Thanks. Mine of course is acting like a car at the mechanic. Now that I have time to investigate its operating perfectly.

Mine does that, too. If I pay it no attention, it's fine. When I want it to break, it's fine. When I go look at it to get something from it, it's broken. Or it was. Event handlers took care of that and I stopped paying attention.

Let us know if anything pops up. My test machine has been receiving about ~200MB of logs daily on ports 514 and 5544 with no ill effects yet. Stay tuned!
